"On Wednesday, 01st October 2008 the prestigious 'Il Ponte 2008' award was conferred to Dr. Darlie Koshy, Director, NID, and the National Institute of Design by the 'Fondazione Europea Guido Venosta' led by its President Ms. Carla Venosta, during a gala held at the historical Pirelli Headquarters in Milan.
The Il Ponte award was set up by Fondazione Europea Guido Venosta, Italy in the year 2001 in the memory of Guido Venosta, a pioneer in bridging the gap between the worlds of productivity, of “profit” and of solidarity, of “no profit”. The award symbolizes the spirit of sustainability and among the important recipients of the award is the Bangladeshi Nobel Prize winner for Peace, Muhammad Yunus, who founded the Grameen Bank and promoted microcredit in the country at the grassroot level who won the same in 2005.
On this occasion, ‘Indian Design Edge: Strategies for Success in the Creative Economy' the new book by Dr. Darlie Koshy was also released internationally by Ms. Carla Venosta."
